An Announcement

We have an announcement to make;

From June 8th, all FYP Podcast episodes apart from a free 30 minute midweek pod, will be moving to our subscription-based model on Patreon for a small monthly fee. That includes an extra hour-long midweek episode, interviews, quiz episodes and more.

If you already listen on Patreon you don't need to do anything, except enjoy the extra content. If you listen on a free public feed you will need to subscribe via patreon.com, with subscriptions starting for as little as £3.50 a month.

That's half the price of a pint for a month's worth of episodes. Or a yearly subscription of FYP content for the same price as a matchday ticket to Selhust.

This is a decision we have not come to lightly and has been something Rob and I have discussed at length for a while. The reason we are making this change is to take the FYP Podcast to the next level. Moving to a fully paid model will allow us to work on the podcast in a bigger capacity until hopefully we are full time. It will also allow us to make more episodes, pay our contributors properly, improve production quality, and potentially move into a dedicated studio space.

You can sign up here: patreon.com/fyppodcast

And you can opt for yearly memberships too and save 15% while doing so here and clicking pay annually: https://www.patreon.com/fyppodcast/membership?vanity=fyppodcast

The immediate upside means an extra advert-free midweek podcast but that isn't just it. We will be rolling straight into weekly World Cup episodes this June in place of the midweek podcast, still with your same midweek team of Jim, Jack and Joe. We'll also be doing post match podcasts for England and Scotland games during the tournament with Jim and Rob.

We will also be doing monthly interviews, regular quiz episodes, live podcasts, improved Women's Team coverage alongside all our usual pods, and have plans for even more which we'll announce in due course. Most importantly, it gives us the opportunity to build something bigger and better long-term. We love what we've built and we're proud of how far we've come but we aren't satisfied with that and want to be able to offer more.

We know any change like this is a big ask, especially for listeners who’ve supported us from the start for free, and we genuinely appreciate every person who’s watched, listened, shared clips, come to live shows, or backed the pod in any way. That support is the reason we’re even in a position to make this step. We’re really excited for what’s next, and we hope you’ll come with us.

Rob and Jim.

See below for our summer pod plans and listen to the episode below where Rob and Jim explain the decision and outline plans for the podcast, starting immediately this summer.
